iPad in the Classroom Deployment

Service Description:
Each semester, San Antonio College selects and offers the opportunity for several faculty to participate in the iPad in Classroom Study Program. This opportunity is for faculty who teach face-to-face and hybrid courses. As part of the iPad in the Classroom initiative, faculty are encouraged to create innovative ways in which iPads can be used to facilitate student learning experiences, enhance students' ability to effectively use this technology in their course work and support the flipped classroom model. Faculty that have been accepted into each semester iPad in the Classroom Study Program will coordinate with the Instructional Innovation Center (IIC) on the deployment of these devices through the Service Center located in the Moody Learning Center (MLC), room 710.

Eligibility: Student, Staff, Faculty

Availability:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., Excluding college holidays.

How to access services (Procedures if Any):
Faculty interested in participating in the iPad in the Classroom Study Program for an upcoming semester will need to plan in advance and contact the IIC, Yvonne Galindo, via email ygalindo2@alamo.edu or phone (210) 486-0044. Once approved, selected faculty will need to email Yvonne Galindo the participating class information; including class roster, course number, course time and dates, course CRN, and any software requirements needed (e.g. Canvas app, Bookshelf, iMovie, Keynotre, etc.).

Service Cost:
Use of the devices are free, however students and employees who check out iPads and other peripheral equipment will be held financially responsible for total or replacement costs in the event equipment becomes lost, damaged, or stolen.

Additional Information:
Prior participation in the program does not guarantee eligibility. Generally, we are able to support 5-7 classes, depending on class size. Students enrolled in courses that are accepted into the program may be eligible to check out an iPad device and peripherals at the Office of Technology Services Service Center, located in the Moody Learning Center (MLC), room 710.
