Faculty Consultations

Service Description: The Instructional Innovation Center (IIC) is a resource at San Antonio College providing services and guidance to faculty and staff needs for effective use of technology in teaching and learning. Lab consultants are available to answer questions about a wide variety of software issues ranging from updating presentations to creating graphics. We welcome faculty to walk-in to our center to discuss resources available to support  their immediate technology needs, but also encourage faculty to contact us to arrange for individual and/or group consultations, workshops and events.

Availability:
Regular Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Summer Hours: Monday- Thursday: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 pm

How to access services (Procedures if Any): The IIC is housed under the Office of Technology Services and is located in the Moody Learning Center (MLC) Room 712. Consultations are available on a walk-in basis during regular business hours. Upon entering the IIC Lab, all faculty are required to sign in with their Banner ID number via the Who's Next Kiosk. Lab staff will then assist them with a variety of instructional technology issues such as, Canvas, BioSig, Respondus Lockdown Browser, eLumen, Faculty 180, etc.

Canvas- Developing your content to deliver as fully online, hybrid or to supplement face to face instruction
Concourse- Creating and editing a web syllabi
eLumen- Assistance with Student Learning Outcomes
iPad in the Classroom Program- Piloting iPads in your teaching as a strategy to engage students and enhance learning
PowerPoint and Prezi- Creating engaging and meaningful presentations
Flipped Classroom- Integrating multimedia into teaching
Blackboard Collaborate- Facilitating online and interactive virtual conferencing
Accessibility- Assisting with needs to accommodate students with disabilities or special needs
