Shared Drive & File Collaboration

Service Description: San Antonio College provides cloud-based file storage and collaboration through Microsoft 365 tools. Faculty and staff are granted access to Teams Workspaces for collaborative file sharing and communication, as well as an Enterprise OneDrive account.  Microsoft OneDrive for Business is a secure cloud storage solution available to all San Antonio College employees as part of our Microsoft 365 suite. It enables staff and faculty to store, access, and share files from anywhere while maintaining version control and data security. OneDrive is an essential tool for remote access, team collaboration, and document backup.

  • Real-time collaboration on Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents
  • Secure file sharing with customizable permissions
  • Access from desktop, web, or mobile
  • Version history to restore previous document versions

  • Granular file recovery in case of accidental deletion

Availability:
Available 24/7 via Microsoft 365 cloud access. Training and support are available during standard business hours.

How to access services (Procedures if Any):
  1. All active Alamo Colleges employees automatically receive access to One Drive and MS Teams.  One Drive can be accessed via ACES-->Outlook (Email).  Select the App Launcher Icon:
  2. An Apps menu will appear; click on All Apps link to continue to view all Office 365 web apps or you can use the Apps that show.
  3. You will then be able to drag or upload files into your One Drive.

Additional Information: Access issues or account problems should be reported to the SAC Help Desk. The Instructional Innovation Center focuses on training faculty and staff in the use of Microsoft Teams and OneDrive (AlamoShare) as instructional and collaborative tools.
