Email for faculty & staff is available via ACES accounts and via Outlook on work computers. ACES email is the official means of communication for Alamo Colleges. The email address is composed of the ACES username followed by @alamo.edu (Example: If ACES username is jsmith, email address is jsmith@alamo.edu).
For instructions on how to obtain your ACES username and therefore your email address and unique email password, go to https://aces.alamo.edu and use the "Get my ACES User Name" link. The default password for ACES First-Time Users is the first two letters of your last name, IN CAPS, followed by your birthdate in MMDDYY format.A unique email password is assigned and available via ACES > Employee tab > Web Services > Personal Information. This unique password cannot be changed. The email username format is root\ACESUsername (Example: root\jsmith). The root/ACESusername is only applicable for signing into the outlook program on a users workstation.
You can access your email be logging in to your ACES account and clicking the email icon located on the top right of the page.
You can also access your email via Outlook on your work computer. Submit a FootPrints work order request or call the SAC Helpdesk (210) 486-0777 for assistance with accessing your email account via Outlook on your workstation.
