Server Back Up Services and Restore Options

Service Description:

Using Alamo Colleges’ enterprise wide network infrastructure, the Office of Technology Services (OTS) provides centralized computer system backup and restore services to ensure that mission critical systems, applications, and data repositories are adequately preserved and protected against data loss and destruction.  The purpose of data backup is to restore integrity of the computer systems in the event of hardware/software failure, physical disaster or user error.  Individual workstations, laptops and mobile devices are not centrally backed up and the responsibility of backing up workstations remains with the user of that computing device.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week

How to access services (Procedures if Any):
To request copies of the backups, submit a service management (Footprints) ticket.  For emergency restore, contact Manuel Rosado at mrosado6@alamo.edu.  San Antonio College users who request the restoration of files must provide department, location, device tag and dates of files to restore.  Restoration process can take up to five days to complete, depending on the complexity.
