Wireless Access Points Additions

Service Description:

Wireless networks are available to San Antonio College students, faculty, and staff. These networks offer fast reliable data connection speeds. SAC wireless is using 802.11ac which supports up to 500 mbps. On average the connection speed is 50 to 60 mbps depending on capabilities of wireless card. Wireless internet access is available inside many buildings at San Antonio College as well as outdoor wireless points in certain areas around campus. All wireless network installations and the use of those wireless networks must comply with the established Board policies such as “C.1.9.1 (Procedure) Appropriate Use of Information Technology Resources” and ITS security standards.

Addition of new wireless access points within the San Antonio College campus is managed by Office of Technology Services.

Eligibility: Staff, Faculty

Availability:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., excluding college holidays and closures.

How to access services (Procedures if Any):
To request an additional wireless access point, please send the request through the online service ticket website at http://footprints.alamo.edu. When submitting a ticket, please select "Network Services" from the Service field, "Network Connectivity-Wireless" from the Component field, and "Add Wireless Access Point" from the detail field.
