Wireless Access @ SAC

Service Description:

San Antonio College offers fast and reliable wireless network access to students, faculty, and staff. These networks offer fast reliable data connection speeds. SAC wireless is using 802.11ac which supports up to 500 mbps.  Wireless internet access is available inside many buildings at San Antonio College as well as outdoor wireless points in certain areas around campus. Please view our San Antonio College Wi-Fi map below, for more information.

All wireless network installations and the use of those wireless networks must comply with the established Board policies such as “C.1.9.1 (Procedure) Appropriate Use of Information Technology Resources” and ITS security standards.

Addition of new wireless access points within the San Antonio College campus is managed by Office of Technology Services.

Availability:
Wireless access is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

How to access services (Procedures if Any): AlamoGuest is an open, unencrypted network, and does not require an exclusive username or password to access. The AlamoGuest network is provided for all Alamo College students and visitors.

Alamo Net is a secured internal wireless network used by Alamo Colleges employees.

To improve coverage in Weak Signal areas,  you may request additional wireless access points, please submit the request through Footprints our IT Service Workorder solution at http://footprints.alamo.edu. When submitting a a service workorder, please select "Infrastructure" from the Category field, "Access Point" from the Sub-Category field, "Request" from the Action field, and "Service Request" from the Ticket Type field drop down options.  Within the description please put in the Description field the Building, Floor, and nearest Room number.

Approval of the additional Wireless Access Points will depend on funding availability.
