Long Distance Access

Service Description:

Departments of San Antonio College can request that long distance calling access be added to their respective VOIP Phones. The SAC Office of Technology Services (OTS) will enable domestic (within the U.S.) long distance calling access for phones assigned to employees. Once long distance access is enabled, employees can make a long distance call by dialing '9' followed by '1'  followed by the area code and phone number.

Eligibility: Staff, Faculty

Availability:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Excluding College Holidays.

How to access services (Procedures if Any):

To request enabling long distance calling access to be on an employee's VOIP phone, please submit a Footprints ticket. When submitting the ticket, under Service, please select "Telecommunications", under Component select, "Desk Phone, and under Detail, select "Change Phone Setup".

Service Cost:
Long distance calling access is free, unless duration of calls is exceedingly high. Currently, about .0123 cents is charged per minute and departments will be contacted by District IT if payment will be needed in the event of extremely high call volumes.
