Remote Access (VPN Access)

Service Description:


San Antonio College VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a way to securely access the San Antonio College network from an off campus location. San Antonio College allows eligible individuals to access SAC resources as if you were on campus. VPN access is only necessary to access certain restricted resources such as Banner, non-web based file shares, or if you need remote access to San Antonio College Systems on campus workstations (via Remote Desktop Protocol).

How to access services (Procedures if Any):
1. Employee will complete a "VPN Access Request Form" and obtain approval and signature from appropriate leadership. The blank form is attached to  the Supporting Documents on this page.

2. Employee or designee will create a FootPrints Ticket at https://footprints.alamo.edu and upload the completed “VPN Access Request Form” with appropriate signatures to the FootPrints ticket. Below in the Supporting Documentation is a guide to assist in creating a Footprint Service Ticket.

3. The Footprints ticket will be assigned to ITS security for approval.

4 Approved requests for VPN FootPrints tickets will be assigned to the network team for processing. Rejected requests will be returned to the Requestor with an explanation.

5. The network team will send a notification to the Requestor when the request is complete.
