Equipment Loan for SAC Employees and SAC Work Study Students

Service Description: Loaner Equipment is available for actively employed SAC Employees and Work Study Students.  This service provides San Antonio College employees and Work Study students with temporary access to college-owned technology equipment such as laptops, iPads, webcams, and other approved devices to support remote work, instruction, training, presentations, and other job-related duties.

How to access services (Procedures if Any):

Loaner Equipment Request:

Note: To request loaner equipment for San Antonio College employees and work-study students, department head(s) must submit a Footprints service work order. Once the request is received by Office of Technology Services department and depending on the availability of the equipment, the loaner equipment request will be added to the approved loaner equipment list. This step ensures that the Borrower's department and the Supervisor are fully aware of the loaner equipment request.

  1. Department Head - Login to Footprints.
  2. Click on "IT Support", "Loaner Equipment Distribution" then select "Loaner Equipment Request Faculty/Staff". Completely fill out the Description and Contact information. Once completed click Submit.
  3. Following the approval request submitted by department head, the Borrower should complete the Equipment Request Form to schedule an equipment pick-up time.
  4. At the time of equipment distribution, the loaned equipment will be transferred to the Borrower's department inventory.  Department Head will be requested to accept the equipment transfer.


Loaner Equipment Return Request:

  1. Borrower must complete the Equipment Return Form located on our Office of Technology Services Website.
  2. Once the equipment is inspected and returned, we will request the Borrower’s department to transfer the loaned asset back to Office of Technology Services inventory.

Conditions & Responsibilities:

  • Equipment must be used only for official college business.

  • Equipment should be available onsite during Annual Inventory Reconciliation Process.

  • Employees are responsible for the care and timely return of equipment.

  • Equipment must be returned in original condition with all accessories.

  • Lost, damaged, or unreturned items may result in department charges.

  • Users must agree to the Appropriate Use Policy.

Additional Information: Employees are required to provide their employee ID (Banner ID) for identification. All technology equipment loans are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
 
NOTE: Borrower assumes full responsibility for all equipment (including software) in their possession. Equipment should not be left unattended. In the event of theft, loss or damage to Alamo Colleges property, the borrower is liable for all replacement costs. Any equipment outstanding 10 days past the due date will be considered stolen and the borrower will be held financially responsible. Equipment use is governed by Appropriate Use of Information Technology Resources (Policy).
